I have always been sceptical about the utility of ISO 9001 certification. Essentially, it means you have a documented procedure for doing whatever you do, but that doesn’t mean you are very good at it.

Last year I visited La Coruña for a conference of the Spanish association of translation companies (ACT) where we discussed the importance of ISO 9000 certification, among other topics.
